Attention : CEOs/MDs of Internet Services Providers (ISPs) Operating in the Republic of South Sudan
Sunject : Enforcement of the Regulatory Compliance with the law & Licese Obligations .
South Sudan’s Communications Act 2012; specifically ,at secton 26 ;mandates the National Communications Authority (NCA) to license all Telecommunications and ICT services Providers which inculde Internet Service Providers.This includes enforcing all necessary regulation to ensure efficient and quality service delivery to the public as well as compliance with International and Regional standards .
For provision of these Telecommunications and ICT services, possession of a valid license duly issued by the NCA is the prerequisite . This public notice therefore servers to emphasize this legal requirment to entities providing Internet Services in South Sudan to ensure thier operations are compliant with the LAW. ISPs that are either unlicesnsed or operating with expired licesnes are advised to report to NCS’s offices on 2nd floor, Telecom House Gumbo and acquire valid license or renew thier expired licenses with immediate effect . Failure to adhere to this notice by the providers shall constitute non-compliance leading/resulting fines,clouser and or confiscation of asses as stipulated in the regulations and the law.
Accordingly ,via this public notice,the general public especially consumer of such services are advised to ensure they only contract or procure services from entities that are holding valid NCA licenses to avoid any inconveniences that may result such as services interruption or discountinutiy due to the non-compliant status of the services provider as the NCA shall immedialtely shutdown such entities once discovered .
